Terms: £15 now, the rest only if it is awarded

Who we are

Attendance Allowance Check is a trading name of Virix Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16325097, 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF. What you are paying for

We ring you, about half an hour, and fill in every page of your claim form in your own words. We print it and post it to you, first class. You read it, sign it and send it off yourself. Our work is done when that pack is posted to you. Ringing you about the decision, and helping you ask for a review, are extra promises we keep free of charge.

The price

• £15 today, one payment, for printing and posting. We do not keep your card.
• £234 only if it is awarded — at any rate — or if your rate goes up after a review. £249 in all.
• If it is refused, you pay nothing more. We help you ask for the decision to be looked at again, free. If it is awarded after that, the £234 is due then.

This is not “no win, no fee”: the £15 is paid either way, and the £149 rule below can apply.

How we find out, and the bill

We ring you around the time the letter should come. We send the bill only when you or your family tell us it was awarded on a recorded call, or send us a copy of the letter. You agree to tell us, or show us the letter. We never send a bill just because you did not answer.

• You have 14 days to pay. If your first payment has not arrived yet, tell us and we will wait.
• Pay by the link we send, by telephone with us, or by bank transfer.
• Or pay in 3 parts of £78, a month apart. Just ask.
• Our fee is never taken out of your allowance. By law it cannot be. It is always a separate bill.

If a bill is late

We remind you by text and telephone after 7 days, by letter after 14 days, and — only if you said we may — we ring a relative after 21 days. After 30 days we write formally. We never add interest, late fees or “collection costs”, and we do not use debt collectors.

Changing your mind

You can cancel within 14 days of agreeing, for any reason. We start within those 14 days only if you ask us to; we ask you on the call.

• Cancel before our call: we give you back the £15.
• Cancel after the call, before your pack is posted: we give you back the £15 and you owe nothing.
• Cancel after your pack reaches you: the £15 is not given back. You owe nothing more — unless you then send in the form we prepared and are awarded. Then you pay £149 in all (our usual price for the same work), so the bill is £134.

To cancel, ring or text 07455 725912, email general@virixlabs.com, or write to us at the address above. Just say: “I cancel my Attendance Allowance Check service.” A cancellation form comes in your pack, but you do not have to use it.

What we do not do

• We do not send anything to the DWP or Social Security Scotland in your name.
• We cannot promise a decision. The DWP or Social Security Scotland decides.
• We do not advise on industrial injuries benefits. Citizens Advice can help with those.

You can claim for free on your own, and Age UK and Citizens Advice help for free when they can.
